Distribute your content to Expedia

Prepare DRIVE and turn on the image distribution to Expedia

Main distribution guidelines:

- GIATA distributes images to Expedia every 12h (morning and evening) via a 3rd party distributor.

- After the initial content upload, GIATA will need a few days to map and internally whitelist this distribution, provided that all the information needed is available (Expedia property ID and Expedia Room Codes). The distribution is live, as soon as the images are in DRIVE, they will start distributing.

- GIATA can also trigger manual image pushes to Expedia that take place immediately. 

- The distribution will overwrite changes made automatically within Expedia Partner Central (EPC).

- If you do not wish to distribute to Expedia via GIATA, please request the hotels@ team to restrict the distribution to Expedia. It is possible to turn this back on at a later stage.

Image specifications:

• Min image size: 1,000 pixels
• Min high-res image: 2,880 pixels
• Min image count: Varies per property and room amenities
• Max image count: Approximately 150 photos
• Room type images: 4 photos per room type; (3 guest room images & 1 bathroom image)
• Reconcile dupes: Yes
• Expedia rejects photos with logos and local attractions

Regarding image motif types:

Motif types (the automatic main tag or name under each photo you upload in DRIVE) to keep an eye on for optimal distribution to Expedia:

- It is possible that our image recognition software will not recognize these motif types correctly:

• Room view
• Room kitchen
• Water-based activities

Please check, and adjust the motif type where necessary. 

- Certain motif types are mapped automatically as "miscellaneous" on Expedia, and Expedia doesn't always display images with this tag. To avoid or correct this, we recommend that you use these motif types:
